Digital Divide
The digital divide refers to the gap between individuals, communities, or countries that have access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as the internet, smartphones, and computers, and those that do not. It also includes the gap in digital literacy and skills between those proficient in using technology and those who do not.
The digital divide can have significant social and economic implications, as those who lack access to technology and digital skills may find it difficult to access education, job opportunities, healthcare, and other essential services. This divide is often seen in developing countries and underserved communities, where the infrastructure for digital connectivity and access to technology is limited.
Efforts are being made globally to bridge the digital divide, including initiatives to increase access to affordable internet services, provide digital literacy training, and make technology more accessible to marginalized communities. However, the divide remains a significant challenge for many individuals and communities worldwide.
