These practicals are for trying AI tools, training a simple model, and talking about what the result means in very simple words.

Do first
  1. Open a simple AI tool or Teachable Machine page.
  2. Try one example and see the result.
  3. Say what the computer learned in your own words.
Do in class
  1. Teach AI words with one easy example each.
  2. Train a model with Teachable Machine using 2 or 3 classes.
  3. Test the model and see when it is right or wrong.
  4. Talk about safety, privacy and bias using a simple class discussion.
Evaluation
  1. Quizzes and tests on AI terms, uses and basic concepts.
  2. Peer evaluation of Teachable Machine or AI tool activity.
  3. Presentation of a small AI concept or technology demo.
1
Mini challenge quick AI demo

Train a model to recognize two simple things, like thumbs up/down or two gestures. Show one case where the model makes a mistake and tell why that might happen.

2
Step-by-step tasks learn by testing
Task 1 — Try a generative AI tool
  1. Use ChatGPT / Bard or similar to generate a short summary of "How the internet works".
  2. Compare answers from two tools and note differences.
Task 2 — Simple ML demo with scikit-learn
  1. Install scikit-learn: pip install scikit-learn.
  2. Run a tiny demo using the Iris dataset to build a classifier (teacher provides notebook).
Task 3 — Ethics case study
  1. Discuss a short scenario about biased AI and list mitigation steps.
  2. Prepare a 3-minute presentation.
Task 4 — IoT exploration (simulation)
  1. Use an online simulator or Arduino starter kit to read a sensor value and send it to a simple dashboard (teacher demo).
Project
  1. Choose one: build a simple chatbot that answers school FAQs, or simulate a sensor and display live values in a browser.
3
Student output what to submit
AI sheet
  1. Write a few AI words with examples.
  2. Explain one tool you tried.
Demo
  1. Show a small Teachable Machine result or AI tool result.
  2. Say one good thing and one problem.
